• Hello All,

Sorry, I am new with WordPress so forgive me if I use any of the wrong lingo in my description below…

We just moved our current WordPress installation over to a Multisite one, using the subdirectories option.

Our goal is to have a “site” for individual departments within our organization. So there could be a site for Customer Service Dept, Sales Dept, Credit Dept, etc…

I am really just an Admin on this (*setup the linux VM, web server, DB, backend stuff, anything like that), so I am not really doing any of the creating of pages and things like that, though I’ve been helping when it’s requested. However, my co-worker who is setting up the individual sites has asked if there is a way to share “Docs” (*Dashboard > Docs… Not media like PDFs and things like that, but the actual “Docs” section where you create the Data for the “Pages” you create.)?

Within each Department, a.k.a. Site, there is some cross-over between some of the information that needs to be included in each Department/Site’s Pages, and it would be extremely helpful if we could share “Docs” between each Site.

Is there any way to do this within Multisite, or perhaps a plugin that could allow us to do something like import/export “Docs” from one Site to another?

If anyone has ANY thoughts or suggestions, please feel free to respond. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.!

    Thanks in Advance,
    Matt

  • “Docs” is not part of WordPress core. Is this from a plugin?

Hey Kjodle, thanks for the reply.

Yes, you are correct. I just found out that it was something added by a plugin.

However, I did find the Dashboard > Tools > Import/Export feature that seems pretty promising. I was able to successfully export a Site’s entire “Docs” section to an xml file. Then I was able to modify the XML file by removing everything except the items I wanted saved to another site. Then I was able to import those specific Docs to one of our other sites with that modified xml file… Worked pretty well.!

    Thanks again for the reply.
