Hello. I like your Asteroid theme, but I have a problem. I use addthis plugin for sharing and when I try to share on facebook a single post instead to share title and post content, it share the title, once again title, post date and then content. Why? With other themes it works ok.

The same problem is on the single post, home pages, categories etc.

This is something you should ask on your plugin’s support page. I also use AddThis but the title and content shows just fine when shared. If you have an SEO plugin that handles the post titles then that could also be the cause of your issue.

I do not use SEO plugins. Take a look on my website please:

    Here is an example:
    facebook sharing url:Share

    the content from sharing box:

on your site ronangelo[dot]com is the same problem when sharing on facebook: title(bold) then again title, date, contant, next / prev links

As I said, this is not a theme issue.

    1. You mentioned:

Why? With other themes it works ok.

But as I tested sharing a single post using Twentyfourteen theme the title and date is also included on the sharing description.

    2. It seems AddThis, or more specifically Facebook gets the description by searching the page for a meta description. This is plugin territory and can not be controlled by a theme since themes must conform with the WordPress theme guidelines. https://make.www.ads-software.com/themes/guidelines/guidelines-plugin-territory/

on your site ronangelo[dot]com is the same problem when sharing on facebook: title(bold) then again title, date, contant, next / prev links

Could you check again? I have meta descriptions through a plugin and as I test sharing a page there are no title duplication or date on the description.

Also, I’m using Frontier theme on my own blog, not Asteroid. I was originally referring to another site using Asteroid theme the same as you. You could test sharing a post https://dyi.li/4Um

Sorry for the trouble, thanks for your help. After carefully comparing your website with mine and with Open Graph Object Debugger (from facebook) I found out that I have some metatags that ruin my page structure; after that I realize that the problem is the plugin “WP Content Copy Protection” – a plugin that disable copy/paste functions. Again, thank you for your awesome themplate and for support.

    One more thing:

Open Graph Warnings That Should Be Fixed
Extraneous Property Objects of this type do not allow properties named ‘Asteroid Theme’.

This is in function.php . Should I delete this row:

    <meta property=”Asteroid Theme” content=”‘ . $ast_version . ‘” />
