I have noticed that when i share my “shop” page on social media (facebook) that the preview that facebook loads on the page or message shows the dreaded “this is where you can add new products to your store” is displayed.
I have added the code to my functions.php file which all other support threads lead to but this still shows when sharing the shop page url. It doesn’t happen on a product page.

I have edited the Shop page as you can see here https://lambretta-images.com/shop/ and as you can see the text “this is where you can add new products to your store” gets displayed” is not present anywhere.

I have cleared the cache.

Jetpack is doing that to your site.

Delete jetpack from your site if you’re not using it.

It is not jetpack, I have tested by deactivating it and deleting it from the plugins list.
The text being picked up is part of the woocommerce plugin. the text shows on a site when there are no products yet added.
Someone from the woocommerce plugin must know which file this text is pulled from, surely?

Hey @edengp250,

The shop “page” in WooCommerce isn’t actually a page in WordPress. It’s a post type archive for products like the blog “page” is for posts.

The text you see there is the default description of the product post type. You should be able to change that with an SEO plugin. Many of these allow you to create a custom description for your shop and have it picked up correctly by Facebook and Google.
