Sharing uploaded files with another wordpress – Possible?

Hi there!
I’m looking for a solution to sharing media from 2 separate wordpress sites. The 2 sites are stored in my DigitalOcean server.
My vision is that both sites can see ALL uploaded pictures from both installations.
Before signing-up for Amazon S3, is it possible to set 1 bucket for 2 domains and then to configure both sites to use media from this bucket?
