    Hi there,

We have setup a two custom carriers but the shipment status does not display on the WooCom orders page. The carriers are DHL Express and Australia Post which are already supported by the plugin. Can this be fixed?

    Screenshot here

I had to setup custom carriers as these tracking numbers come in from a third-party who does not use standard naming for the shipment providers.

    Thanks,

    Phil.

Hi Please use these shipping provides from the AST predefined shipping providers list and it will work, you do not need to create custom providers for them, if you want to just rename the providers names you can use the “Display Name” Option.

    Hi Zorem,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Just to clarify we have a third party providing tracking numbers via the WooCom REST API, when the tracking number is added AST says ‘Shipping provider not found’ on the orders page.

Are you saying that if we just rename the existing shipping providers it will solve this problem?

    Thanks,

    Phil.

Hi, the Shipping Provider Name your 3rd party is adding via the WooCommerce API must match the names of the Shipping Provider on the Shipping Providers List.
Go to WooCommerce > Shipment Tracking > Shipping Providers, enable the shipping providers you use and Ask your 3rd party to use the same exact names when they add tracking info via the tracking API
    Thanks

    Hi Zorem,

Right but I don’t think that’s possible, the third-party is a large dropship company based in China and will not make minor changes at our request. Can you provide another solution please? Surely this can be address via a WP function or similar? I think the plugin should be able to handle this scenario.

    Thanks,

    Phil.

Hi, ok, I sent this request to the developers to come with a solution to map the carries you get from your fulfillment service to AST shipping providers.
    I will keep you posted.

Thanks Zorem, that would be great.

A selector that let’s us map the customer carrier to a supported carrier would do fine.

Yes! We added a solution for that in the latest version, we added the “API name” for mapping names received by the shipment tracking API and our shipping providers list.
For example, if you get a different provider name from the API then its name on the AST shipping providers list, you can edit the provider and add the name you get from the API, and AST will know to map it to that shipping provider.
    Thanks
