    Hey,
I set up my shipping and it seems to work okay, I have different rates for Canada, Europe US, i’d like to know how to add additional shipping for additional items as I have 4 bucks on top of rate for additional item. I tried the (4 * [qty]) thing and it didn’t work, maybe I did it wrong who knows.

    thanks

    Hi there!

    Thanks for contacting us.

I understand you are trying to set up shipping as per your end goals.

For a single product added to the cart – the 4 * [qty] will simply multiply the quantity (1) with 4 which would be $4.

Are you looking to add a base cost for the first product added to the cart and then charge $4 for the second product and so on? It would be great to learn more about your shipping end goals so that we could suggest solutions.

Could you send screenshots of your shipping settings and your site’s System status report?

(You can get the System status report by navigating to the WooCommerce / Status section of your site. Once there, click on the Get system report button and then copy it by clicking on the Copy for support button. Then paste it here in a comment. )

    Thank you. ??

    Hi
what I noticed is that the 4 was added to the regular price, so example if the item was 20 bucks, and I put one item in cart, it would come up as 24 because I did the 4 * [qty] exactly how I read in many articles and put it in.

Are you looking to add a base cost for the first product added to the cart and then charge $4 for the second product and so on? It
    YES! you nailed it.

    Hello,

In that case, you can add a base cost + ( 4 * [qty] ) for each item in the cart like
    10 + ( 4 * [qty] ).

I put this 12.50 +( 4* [qty] ) in cost under flat rate settings, I hit save changes. Here’s what happens, this is for canada, example 1 item is $15. adding 2 it comes out to 30. the shipping is 12.50 + 4 additional.
if this was working correctly it would be 16.50. 12.50 + 4.00 right.
Nope I have 20.50 as shipping. Instead of adding it just once, it’s adding it to the first item, then adding it again making it double.
If I put in for one item under canada instead of just the 12.50 shipping, it’s adding the 4 making it 16.50 for 1 item. so now my shipping to canada is 16.50 with that 12.50 +( 4* [qty] ) added in the cost settings. That’s the problem I’m having.

    Hi @leroytuttle

If I put in for one item under canada instead of just the 12.50 shipping, it’s adding the 4 making it 16.50 for 1 item. so now my shipping to canada is 16.50 with that 12.50 +( 4* [qty] ) added in the cost settings. That’s the problem I’m having.

Thank you for clarifying. Now it’s a math problem ?? Can you put 12.50 +( 4* [qty] - 4 ) so that it cancels out the first $4, but every additional product will still get the $4 added to the base cost? The results should look like below:
