We’ve been having continuous issues with the shipping address fields with Authorize.net on our WordPress/WooCommerce site.

Basically to sum up the issue —
We have a number of orders come in where the billing and shipping information are different from each other. Typically this comes through fine, but recently we’ve received many, many complaints that the shipping address is being changed and updated to match the billing address when it should be different. At first we thought this might be user error, but it kept happening — and it’s never happened before in 4 years of using Authorize.net and WooCommerce with this plugin.

We did some test orders of our own, and these were the results:

    • 1st order: In this order, I had to enter the shipping info twice: first in the ordering info page and then in the cc payment page, because it didn’t fill in the shipping info fields. And even though I had entered the shipping address twice, it did not take. When I hit “submit”, the order came through with the same billing address as the shipping.
    • 2nd order: I entered the shipping address in the ordering page. When I went to the cc payment page, the billing address had filled in both fields for the billing and the shipping. Since I did not click on the box that says “copy billing info to shipping info”, I went ahead and I hit “submit”. Again, the order came through with the billing address as the shipping.
    • 3rd order: For this order, the billing and the shipping address both filled in correctly finally in the cc payment form. When I hit “submit”, the order came through with the correct addresses.

What we’ve done to try to correct this:

    • May 27th – We saw that there was an update to the YITH Authorize.net plugin, so we did the update. The problem seemed to be solved.
    • June 15th – We had another order with the same problem. We saw that Authorize.net released another update the week prior, so we made the plugin update again.
    • July 9th – We had another order come in with the same problem. We saw that a new WooCommerce version was released and another Authorize.net plugin update, so we have updated both yet again.

I’m not sure if this is solving the problem or not, and was wondering if other people were experiencing the same issues. This has been a serious problem on our end, as we sell to users who often have different billing and shipping addresses, so I want to be sure everything is resolved.

    Hi there,
hope you are doing well! ??

It’s a really strange issue. We have been testing in our installation and seem that all is working fine for us, the billing and shipping data are saved properly in both, WooCommerce and Authorize.net.

In this case, please, try to deactivate all plugins, leaving only WooCommerce and YITH Authorize.net active, and make some tests to see if the problem is solved. If so, try to activate them again, one by one, to see which one causes the issue.

If the problem isn’t caused by a plugin, try to activate the default theme Twenty Sixteen and see if you have the same issue. Also, if you have customized some files in your theme, please try with a fresh installation without any customization.

On the other hand, if the problem persists (and you want), you can share with us the site URL, so we can make some tests in the checkout and try to understand where is the issue. Note that in this case, we will create some pending orders for testing purposes.

Let us know any news, please.

    Have a nice day!

I will do some testing and reach back out if I need further assistance. I think I may also try another plugin as well. Thank you for your help and insight!
