Hi, I have an issue with woocommerce, the customer address is staying in the cart total section and also pre-filling the check out page for all to see, plus the ‘ship to a different address’ is pre-checked and pre-filled, I can’t find a way to remove the info for other customers.

I have tried deactivating the plugins and have also switched to different payment methods but it is still there

Can some one please help, any suggestion appreciated.

I got all the way to checkout page and didn’t see anyone’s info.

How are you running thru this process? Have you tried using any private browsers?

    Oh that’s interesting,

I’m just going through it normally on the website not through private browsers. Every time I try, I see the checkout fields pre-filled with someone else’s details.

    Howdy!

I tested the cart and checkout pages of your site and did not see any pre-filled addresses:

However, does this mostly happen to logged in users?

There are a few potential causes/things to check:

    1. Are users complaining about this? Or is this something you have tested? It’s possible that your information is being pre-filled in because it is saved by the browser, and this is not an actual issue.
    2. If users are complaining about this and actually seeing other user’s information in the cart and checkout pages, then this would indicate a caching issue of some sort. Check that any caching setup for the site excludes the Cart, Checkout, and My Account pages, then run another test. More information here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/configuring-caching-plugins/

For the “Ship to a different address” issue with it being pre-filled, you can change that by going to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Options and selecting this:

Just to add to @dynamiczach points. You will, depending on your host, have a caching process on the server already.

You’ll need to contact them and ask they exclude both the cart and checkout pages from cache.

Use a private browser for testing purposes rather than a regular browser so it shows you what new visitors that’s aren’t logged in will see more than a regular browser.

In Chrome go to File > New Incognito
In Safari go to File > New Private Window

Thank you both so much, it now all appears to be working correctly, I have cleared cache and will contact my host about the cache for the cart and checkout pages.

I logged out and it worked, plus I have sorted the pre-filled checkbox for shipping address.

    Thank you again

    Howdy @lauragoodsell!

Glad to hear it – thanks for letting us know!

Yes, as @serafinnyc pointed out, you will want to also contact your hosting provider to make sure they don’t have server-side caching setup for the cart/checkout/my account pages (I should’ve made that a bit clearer when I mentioned “any caching setup”).

I’ll mark this thread as resolved now. If you have any further questions, you can still reply here, or for a new question, I recommend creating a new thread.
