Shipping Based on Weight and Carrier

Is there a way to get this to pick a certain carrier because of the weight.
I use USPS for all orders under combined weight of 5 pounds. Then if it is over I use UPS.
Is there a way to get it to switch to UPS without showing the USPS rates on my checkout.
