    I’m inputting a standard flat rate shipping formula as follows: 2 + ( 1 * [qty] )
I always receive this message: unexpected ‘)’
I’ve tried on multiple occasions but always the same response and am unable to set my shipping costs as needed.
I would be very grateful for some help solving this problem. Thanks.

  • Worked for me and is similar to an example in the docs.

Did you check for a conflict? Temporarily deactivate all other plugins and switch to the default theme. Does it work now?

    Thanks for your suggestion.

I actually had a response from Woocommerce via another route and their advice was to leave out the brackets. This worked (BIDMAS Order of Ops), so problem solved.

It’s just odd that my formula was exactly as Woocommerce instructions (plus all the youtube videos I checked).

Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

    Hi @fmhelper,

This is a known bug which will be fixed in 4.0.1. For now, it seems without the ( ) the formula still works, but this will be fixed to the previous/correct behavior: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/25928
