    Hi WooCommerce-Team,

    I have the problem that with certain prices (mainly shipping costs), rounding errors occurs. I have already read in many forums and tried different settings. Unfortunately nothing helped. Finally I disabled all plugins except WooCommerce and can now say that the problem is definitely caused by the WooCommerce plugin.

    I have also read this thread https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/rpoblem-rounding-taxes-woocommerce/
    But I have to say, I don’t know exactly what I’m supposed to do now!? Will there be a “simple” solution for this problem in the future, without having to work on the code or enter all prices in net prices?

    Thanks in advance
    Martin

    Hey there!

    Can you please tell us a bit more about what is causing the rounding issue? Do you have some prices input with more decimal places than others? Are you seeing this on specific products you can send me screenshot of? You can use https://snipboard.io to send them.

    Hi Andrew,

    never thought that there will be come an answer of the Support Team ??

    Actually it is really simple. As a already said it is mainly with the shipping costs. I want to have an amount of 13,50 Euro with tax. Therefore I need to put in an amount without tax of 11,34 Euro. I am based in Germany so the tax will be 19%. With this setting WooCommerce will generate an amount of 13,49 Euro. I use the standard settings with two decimal places.

    I hope you can help here. Thanks in advance.

    Hi @ansampf86

    Thanks for clarifying!

    If you go to WooCommerce > Settings > Tax on your site, is Round tax at subtotal level, instead of rounding per line currently enabled or disabled?

    Can you enable that and check again if the rounding issue happens?

    Hi Etienne,

    thanks for trying to help. I have activated and deactivated this option in the past already. Without an improvement. It must be an issue with the way how WooCommerces is rounding the amounts.

    I can only imagine that WooCommerce uses the 3rd decimal place as a calculation base. If you take the shipping cost of 11,34 and add 19% to it, you will receive 13,4946. Which is at the end 13,49.

    If you now type in a shipping cost amount of 11,35 without tax and add 19% to it, you will than receive 13,5065. Which is at the end 13,51.

    In both cases, it is either 0,01 too little or too much. If I now set an amount of 11,345 as shipping costs, it will be rounded to 13,51 again. That’s why I can’t solve the problem on my own unfortunately.

    Thanks for this detailed reply!

    I had a look at my test site and can see the same issues when using your rates.

    I played around a bit and set the decimals to show as 4 to see how the rounding happens and realized that if I make shipping 11,344, it rounds it correctly and the final price for shipping is 13.50 when I change the decimals back to two;

    Thanks for your quick response. Thats great so far, but what are the consequences for me now? I read somewhere that if you change the decimal places afterwards, you have to adjust all prices in the shop. Do I need to change this?

    Ah, you do not need to change the decimal places, I only did that on my site to see how the rounding works with these rates.

    For the shipping rate, you can add the rate with how many decimals you need, regardless of what the setting is for how many decimals is displayed in the shop;
