• Hi,

I have a client who uses USPS for everything, including international. I checked out the USPS live extension from developer Douglas, but it is only for domestic, it seems. If I were to use that and then get another extension for international, that’s more than $100. Neither my client nor I am willing to pay that. If I were to go for the USPS without the API, it’s free, but everything has to be entered manually, and once I give my client the driving wheel, she will not update it once prices change, etc. I have been very pleased with TCP up to this point, for the most part, but this issue has put me in a bind. TCP has boasted pride when it comes to shipping stuff, so I am hoping I am missing something and that I don’t know what I am doing, exactly. This the first time i have had to deal with shipping, so I am hoping I am missing something and all I need to do is….????

I also read somewhere from that TCP can develop an extension to fit my needs for free? Is that still true? It was in a post from two years ago.

Any help/advice/direction would be greatly appreciated.

  • Admins, has there been any development on this? I am running into the exact same issue. Please advise.

I ended up buying the live domestic. The plugin’s developer Doug told me it is tested for Canada only, but should be okay with international as well — there is an international component to it similar to other shipping plugins. He also said if I ran into trouble he would help me with it. So far, he has.

make sure you add weights to your products or the calculator won’t kick in.

Thank you for the information. One question though, did you use the USPS Live Domestic or the Canada Post Live Domestic? I just wanted to clarify. Thanks!
