We have 4 zones set-up for the United Kingdom and postcodes that have been added with wildcards which don’t work.

    For example.

Zone 2 – Scottish Highlands and Islands

    IV14*
    IV15*

When a customer enters a postcode such as IV14 9EE it returns with no shipping options available.

What could be causing this issue ?

  • That looks right.

You have put some shipping methods in the Zone 2 Shipping Zone aren’t there?

Can you show a screen shot of your Zones?

We do have DPD Flexible Shipping plugin running but we have been told with is a Woocommerce issue.

The UK mainland postcodes work fine.

    Thanks

    All looks ok!

Can you go to Shipping Options and enable Debug Mode – that will show a message on the checkout page telling which shipping zone is being called

Yes, no debug message when using a postcode from zone 2,3 & 4.

When using a zone 1 postcode it displays – zone 1 matched.

Have tested with all plugins disabled and with default wordpress theme.

    Thanks

    That’s strange!
Can you try creating a new zone and putting at the top of the list. Add a few IV ranges and try that

    Found the issue.

We have flexible shipping with DPD integration and if NEXT DAY is selected from the DPD options and the postcode is non UK mainland it does not give the customer shipping options.

To enable these additional zones to work the DPD option needs changing to DPD TWO DAY.

    Thanks
    Simon

Ah right – that makes sense now!!
    Glad you sorted it

Hi, I have a similar problem I hope you can help with. I have assigned 6 zones for different regions in the UK. Each zone has a different flat rate shipping charge. However some postcodes aren’t working and revert back to the cheaper shipping rate. An example:- PH14* is in zone 4 working fine, PH15*, PH16*, PH17* & PH18* are in zone 5 and cost should be more but the flat rate charge reverts back to the same as zone 4. PA1-19* are zone 3 but PA34 is zone 6 but reverts back to zone 3 charge. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Any help appreciated. Thank you.

@debbierobinson15 how are you entering the postcodes?

    For example:

    PA3* would trigger for PA3 1AA – but also for PA34 1AA

You would need to use PA3 * – notice the space before the * – that would mean PA34 wouldn’t trigger it.

Same for PA1* – that will trigger PA10 though to PA19 as well.

The order that the Zones are in is also important – make sure the narrower ranges are first in the list!

    THANK YOU! That’s done it!
