Using MarketPress Lite for a small store on my site. Everything works great except shipping. It never adds the shipping cost to any orders.

I have set up Table Rate shipping, chose my desired countries, and went 5 levels deep for shipping charges based on product cost. Thought it was perfect, until I had a couple orders come in with no shipping fee added. My bad, should have tested it.

I have spent the last three hours testing everything I can think of. Table rate does not add any shipping fees (using Paypal or Manual Payment).

Weight based shipping does not add any shipping fees (using Paypal or Manual Payment). I have added a weight to all products when I imported the spreadsheet, though I see no place on the Product page to add/adjust weight.

Flat rate does add the shipping fee. I can use Flat rate for now, but prefer table based as it allows a greater range for shipping costs.

    Thanks for any help.

If I get the paid version of this, are there other shipping options aside from USPS?
I’m in Canada, so USPS won’t help.

I tried disabling and enabling the plugin.
I tried using default WP template.
    I tried disabling other plugins.

Weight based and table based shipping methods are not working.

    Hello there @mrmyles,
Are you by any chance using it to sell downloadable products?
If you’ve added a file that users can download on that field in the edit procuct page, then shipping is not applied!

The premium plugin has these shipping methods available:

    • FedEx
    • Flat Rate
    • Table – Quantity
    • Table – Rate
    • UPS
    • USPS
    • Weight Rate

No, sorry. If I was selling downloadable products I would not care if the shipping was not working. Everything I sell needs to either be shipped or picked up. There is no option in the free or paid version it seems to pick up in store, so I will deal with those in a different way.

I need to have a functioning shipping module. Either weight based or table based. Neither of which is working right now. The only shipping module I can get to work , is flat rate. And it is not very effective.

    Hi @mrmyles

Have you seen the tutorial videos? There might be a simple setting that you’ve missed, you can check the videos out here:

    Hopefully something there will help.

Yes. Watched all videos. All set up steps have been done. Everything works except shipping.

    Store address – Check.
    Products added – Check
    Prices set – Check
Variables added if needed – Check
    Taxes set – Check
    Payment method – Check
    Shipping Countries chosen – Check
Shipping calculation – Fail for everything but Flat Rate.

Also, possibly worth noting, my settings do not match what I see in the videos. Not sure if the videos are a previous version.

For example the shipping video Flat Rate has Lower 48 States, Hawaii & Alaska, Canada & International.

Mine has In Country, United States, International.

    Hi @mrmyles

The version in the videos is the premium version so there are some differences, the shipping options that aristath mentioned are more extensive in the premium version for example.

Can you attach a screenshot of your shipping options page, and a product page?

Do the payments for the product always go through without error? Do they ever fail?

Do you ever see any errors?
What about in the error log?
Have you tried with debug mode available?
Have you tried buying something yourself to see what happens?

All orders go through successfully. No failures or errors.

Do you ever see any errors?

    Error free.

What about in the error log?

Which error log are you referring to?

Have you tried with debug mode available?

Debug using Chrome Dev Tools? Yes.

Have you tried buying something yourself to see what happens?

Had 2 people buy items. 1 in Canada, 1 in the US. Neither got charged shipping. I tried buying twice with different addresses, also not charged for shipping. Unless I turn of Flate Rate shipping.

I even downloaded the plugin fresh, and overwrote the current one with it.
    No change.

I have tried Chrome (PC & Mac), Safari (Mac), FireFox & IE (PC).
    None work.

MarketPress does not work, so I need to switch?

    Hi @mrmyles

I hope you had a great weekend.

I’ve spoken with the lead developer, and his only suggestion is that there must be something that is making MarketPress think this is a digital product. Do you have any downloadable files attached?

    Thread Starter MrMyles

    (@mrmyles)

    No digital products.

I gave up, bought the full version which is several releases ahead of the free Lite version. I asked before I bought if everything worked because Lite does not, and that was the first they heard of it not working.

Regardless, MarketPress (paid version) has functioning shipping. Changed nothing, just installed the paid version. Even though the free version should have worked, $9 was worth it to get it resolved.

That’s great I’m glad that purchasing the pro version worked thanks for letting us know and for marking this resolved.
