I have recently updated the plugin to the latest version and converted to a single delivery instead of groups and now the check out will not pick up any delivery charges at all. I have no idea why everything looks like its configured correctly. Please help!

  • Hi Luke, have you got my message and have seen the screenshots of my settings? The shipping costs are still not added to the orders in the basket and I need to solve it asap. Please let me know if you are going to help me further with it to solve this issue? Thank you!

    Hi @catfrog,

I deeply apologize for long time waiting for my response. I just took a look at the screenshots you’ve attached and I believe the first problem is that the Zone region for Local shipping zone wasn’t configured properly. If you want to use the fully numeric ranges, each range should be placed in a separate line this way:

    3430...3434
    3425...3441
    etc.

not together in the one line and without the proper order. That’s probably why your shipping zones are not being matched properly. To verify that, please enable the Debug mode at WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping options > Debug mode, add the product to the cart, enter the shipping address you did on the screenshot and check in the notice at the top of the cart page if the Local shipping zone was matched properly.

    The last screenshot:

suggests that despite entering the 3430 postcode Austria shipping zone is being matched instead of the Local one:

What’s more the Flexible Shipping method will be always free in such case because you’ve defined the price-based rule for 0-99€ range with 0€ shipping cost and set 99€ to be the free shipping threshold at the same time:

Please let me know if my suggestions above helped.

    Kind regards,
    Luke

Hi Luke, great, thanks so much!

I corrected the mistakes and it is working for local zones ok now where it just shows free options. However, for the EU zones where the shipping should be free for the orders above 150, it shows both paid and a clickable free shipping as an option, which should obviously be the only choice. How do I get rid of this paid option here then?

    Plus some questions:

    1. Can I put individual zip codes rather than a range? That’s what I really meant to do. In this case, I understand you need to put an individual zip code in a separate line?

    2. Is it necessary to define both Free shipping and flexible shipping for a shipping zone? Or is it just enough to define flexible shipping option with a rule of 99(Austria ,Germany)/150 (EU countries) as a order minimum for free shipping?

    4. Do I need to define a condition in the flexible shipping as per your screenshot https://wpdesk.me/ls/uz86l.jpg Or is just putting Free shipping 99/150 is enough?

    5. Should I turn on FS debug mode in all the shipping options? What does it do?

Many thanks for your help! ??

    Hi @catfrog,

To have the paid shipping for orders below 150€ and free once the 150€ threshold is reached it should be handled by one Flexible Shipping method, not 2: Flexible Shipping & WooCommerce default Free shipping. I believe you should simply delete the WooCommerce Free shipping and leave the Flexible Shipping method active. Configure the shipping cost calculation rules for the orders below 150€ according to your needs and set the 150€ threshold. Once it’s reached the previously paid Flexible Shipping method will become free and that’s all.

And here are the answers for your further questions:

    1. Can I put individual zip codes rather than a range? That’s what I really meant to do. In this case, I understand you need to put an individual zip code in a separate line?

Yes, you can use the single postcodes to precisely define the shipping zone region or you can also use the so called ‘wildcards’ – asterisk sign * replacing the part of the postcode. You can read more about it e.g. here in this article:

    https://flexibleshipping.com/uk-shipping-zones-configuration-woocommerce/

However, please mind that each single postcode or wildcard should be placed in a separate line to be used propely.

    2. Is it necessary to define both Free shipping and flexible shipping for a shipping zone? Or is it just enough to define flexible shipping option with a rule of 99(Austria ,Germany)/150 (EU countries) as a order minimum for free shipping?

As I mentioned at the beginning there is no need to use both – Flexible Shipping and Free shipping shipping methods. All of this can be handled by single Flexible Shipping method.

    4. Do I need to define a condition in the flexible shipping as per your screenshot https://wpdesk.me/ls/uz86l.jpg Or is just putting Free shipping 99/150 is enough?

When it comes to Flexible Shipping the free shipping might come either from the 0-cost calculation rule or from the Free shipping threshold. It’s up to you which option suits your case better.

    5. Should I turn on FS debug mode in all the shipping options? What does it do?

It’s not necesarry. The FS Debug Mode is helpful and usually used to troubleshooting e.g. to find out why the shipping methods are not being displayed or which rules exactly were used and which not to calculate the shipping cost. If everything works fine in your shop you can simply turn it off.

    Kind regards,
    Luke
