Summary: All shipping options get lost when any change is made on the checkout page.

My settings are such that I allow local pickup and shipping options are shown on both the cart and checkout pages. Everything works fine in the cart and a shipping rate can be selected. The selected shipping option will carry through to the checkout page, but when any change is made in the checkout page (e.g. finishing/changing the address, or selecting a different shipping method), it refreshes so that local pickup is chosen, which by itself is a problem but not near as bad as the issue I’m posing about. After this happens, selecting the “ship” button will not generate the shipping options. It will just state “THERE ARE NO SHIPPING OPTIONS AVAILABLE. PLEASE CHECK YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS”. Refreshing the page multiples times sometimes brings back the shipping options, but the only certain way I’ve found to complete a purchase is after the shipping address is entered, go back to the cart page and select the desired shipping method there, and then proceed to checkout without making any changes in the checkout page.

I should note a few things. I’ve deactivated every plugin possible and checked it, and there was no performance change. I create the store in woocommerce 8.9 and everything worked like a charm. The problems appeared the day I received the 9.0 update. I’ve tried several different browsers, computers and a smart phone and got the same responses from each.

  • Hi @ch11pet

Thank you for reaching out — we’re happy to help!

It sounds like WooCommerce was not the only active plugin, while troubleshooting this. Could you confirm?

Moreover, if things go back to working as expected when reverting to WooCommerce version 8.9 (preferably on a staging site), while other plugins and functionality is active, that would mean there is no full compatibility with WooCommerce version 9.x in place. In such case, feel free to alert the support channel(s) of said functionality/plugins about it.

I hope this is helpful! Please let us know if you have any further questions about this matter, or if we misinterpret your concern in any way. We will be happy to help you further.

Sorry for the delay. WooCommerce was the only active plugin besides my shipping rate supplier (Shippo). It’s clear Shippo is providing rates. The problem is when any change is made during the checkout phase that requires a refresh, so any address change or selecting a different shipping method, all shipping methods are lost.

I also tried disabling the local pickup option within WooCommerce settings to see if that was interfering, but there was no performance change.

    Hey, @ch11pet!

    Thanks for clarifying.

Were you able to test with Shippo also deactivated and while using only the default WooCommerce shipping settings to see if the issue persists?

To figure out what is causing the issue it is important to know if it happens with only WooCommerce and no other plugin. And even better if you can test it while on a default theme such as Storefront.

It is important to consider as well a staging functionality in case you would not like to touch your production site (you can ask your host if they offer this service), or you can use WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Have a wonderful day!

Solved. First off, thank you for your response canastas10s! The solution is below for others having the same issue.

I found a setting called “Page Condition” within the Shippo settings in WooCommerce Settings under the “Live Shipping Rates”. Page condition was set to “cart & checkout”, which one would think would work fine. I changed this setting to “Any” and now shipping rates refresh during checkout.
