• Shipping methods are simply inadequate and worse that previous plugin. Don’t use this. I don’t want flat rate shipping method, but that’s the only option.

Hi @cogburnarsenal, sorry to hear you feel this way. I assume you are referring to the USPS live rates that were present in WooCommerce Shipping & Tax and now not in WooCommerce Shipping?

Just for clarity, WooCommerce Shipping is not WooCommerce Shipping & Tax. It is a brand new extension the might offer similar functionality, but is entirely built from the ground up and not just an update.

WooCommerce Shipping does not offer shipping methods, so giving it a 1 star review for a feature it does not have feels a bit unfair. Specially so since we do not advertise it has this feature, so would appreciate if you can reconsider your review.

A note on the live rates in WooCommerce Shipping & Tax, that feature was deprecated in Oct 2018 already and was not available as an option to new stores since then. Only those that used it prior to the deprecation had access. If you wish to retain your live rates functionality then you can continue to use WooCommerce Shipping & Tax instead of WooCommerce Shipping. We are working on an update to ensure live rates from WooCommerce Shipping & Tax works alongside WooCommerce Shipping if you have both plugins active at the same time, but since this features has been deprecated for so long I would rather recommend you look into the official USPS extension instead.

Well, I can’t rate the scope of your plugin separate from the execution, so it’s going to stay what it is. It’s a reflection of my dissatisfaction in the direction your going.

I had WooCommerce Shipping & Tax and then a popup came to try out your new shipping plugin. I tried it and it said it was going to migrate over my settings for shipping. Well, it didn’t migrate the setting because the features I use aren’t there anymore. You say it doesn’t have shipping methods but it certainly changes how shipping methods work and removes live rates function that I was using, so how is that not the same thing from the users perspective.

It also doesn’t have a place to even add weight to your shipping packages you enter as favorites. It also doesn’t migrate your previously saved shipping packages from previous pluggin. I can’t even manage to give you another star for user interface because it’s not any better. In fact it makes it more difficult to get tracking information for competed orders, so in some ways I would call it worse for user interface. You also still make me check the box to complete the order EVERY TIME I ship a package. If clicked that checkbox thousands of times.

if you want more stars, you have to solve problems. What I see is new problems and moving previously free features behind paywalls.

This review is accurate and calls attention to a poor implementation and deceptive “upgrades” that woo is playing.

The plugin author’s response directing the user to an additional paid-subscription plugin that will be required to get the same functionality tells you the game that they are playing.

If you install this plugin, you will be forced to move from one free plugin that works to having to pay regularly for the same features, plus required to have two plugins installed instead of one. It’s a big downgrade for sure.
