    Until recently, the plugin had been operating flawlessly. However, after updating the plugin a week or so ago, I’ve been experiencing problems with PayPal Express checkout.

    When using Express checkout, shipping costs are not being applied properly and Texas sales tax is being applied to all orders, even those outside of Texas.

    It’s really confusing too. When you go from PayPal back to the main site, it shows the proper details (i.e. no sales tax & shows the shipping calculator to determine which option you want). But after processing, shipping costs are removed and the Texas sales tax gets applied.

    Here is a screenshot of a completed order with the problem in WordPress: https://i.imgur.com/EW80NWn.jpg

  • No, i’m using the Cybersource payment gateway plugin by Woothemes. The only thing i’m using your plugin for is Paypal Express.

    @angelleye I put in a support ticket with a link to this thread as reference.

    Also I retract my statement that the correct shipping was being charged. After checking each order since updating to 1.1.6.3.6, about half of them were charged $0 shipping, even though the correct shipping amount was displayed at checkout.

    If you could role back to 1.1.6.3.5 that would be great.

    @drew-ninja, ok, thanks.

    I think what I’m going to do is simply roll back to 1.1.6.3.4 and then re-apply the things we did in 1.1.6.3.5 that are not causing issues and leave the rest out. We can release that as 1.1.6.3.7 to get things working smoothly again, and then the other stuff we thought we had working will be pushed to a later update.

    So again, it’s very odd that rolling back to that version is causing you problems, especially since you said it was working before. We’ll get it figured out, though.

    @mcarswell, so 1.1.6.3.5 was working fine for you, but 1.1.6.3.6 is not?

    That would be odd because .6 was just a few adjustments after .5. I think the 1.1.6.3.5 update is what caused the problems some people are seeing.

    If you want to revert back to 1.1.6.3.4 that should be better again for now. This page has all of the versions available so you can download it: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/paypal-for-woocommerce/developers/

    Just grab the 1.1.6.3.4 version, delete the plugin from your server, and then upload the .4 version. Then double check the plugin settings and click save (even if you don’t change anything) and I think that will get you back to what you had before the issues began.

    Then if you can confirm that with me that’d be great, because I think I’m just going to roll back to .4 and re-merge things from .5 that I know were good, but leave the rest out for now.

    I’m glad I found this thread, I’ve been hunting and hunting through google searches.

    Everything worked flawlessly until I updated the plugin to 1.1.6.3.6 a few days ago.

    I noticed a paypal express order come through where no shipping was charged (it should have been). The order details showed usps:D_PRIORITY_MAIL instead of Priority Mail? like it usually does. The order email only had the person’s name and the address was missing.

    Funny thing is, the Review Order page had everything exactly correct. Shipping, Tax, and Shipping Address were all perfect. Only when pressing the Place Order button, did it erase the shipping and taxes, so the customer bought a product with free shipping and no taxes (probably a very happy customer).

    I disabled the Pay-with-paypal buttons from product pages and the cart page until it gets fixed. Glad it’s a known issue and getting resolved. Thanks.

    @john Brice,

    I think it was our 1.1.6.3.5 update that caused the problems, actually. .6 was a minor update after that to resolve a couple of things we missed, but the majority of the update was the .5 update.

    I’m currently in the process of putting together 1.1.6.3.7, which is essentially a roll-back update to get rid of the changes we made in .5 that seem to be causing the problems.

    We are nearly done with it and will be releasing it soon. Very sorry for the troubles with the last update. The stuff that is going on is stuff we still cannot reproduce on our own servers, but we’ve had enough reports of the same problems that we’re just going to roll back and re-investigate.

    We just released the 1.1.6.3.7 update, which as explained above, is a rollback update that removes the problematic adjustments that were included in 1.1.6.3.5.

    Please update accordingly, and then it is recommended that you go into the settings for each gateway that you have enabled, review the settings, and then click Save even if you don’t change anything.

    You’ll also need to make sure you clear any caching/CDN services you might have in place.

    Then the problems that you’ve been facing should be resolved. Please let me know.

    Thank you, I installed 1.1.6.3.7 and it’s back to working correctly.

    One thing: on the cart page there is a “Proceed to Checkout” button and a Paypal Checkout button. I could have sworn the button used to say “Pay with Credit Card” instead of “Proceed to Checkout”. I did re-save the settings pages as instructed, and cleared caches.

    The rolled back version 1.1.6.3.7 works perfectly.

    After updating, I cleared the site cache (I’m using SG CachePress and Cloudflare) and then saved the settings in all of my Checkout Payment Methods, even though I didn’t change any settings. And voila, it worked like a charm.

    Thank you for the fix!

    Glad to hear things are working! Whew! ??

    @john Brice, there is logic built into that button to change what it says based on the payment gateways you have enabled.

    If you have nothing but Express and Pro enabled, and you have the Express button enabled on the cart page, then it will say “Pay with Credit Card”.

    If you have any other payment gateways enabled along with those then it will say “Proceed to Checkout”. It will also say “Proceed to Checkout” if you have the Express button disabled on the cart page.
