• Hi,

I want my shop base page (https://www.timothyandclover.co.za/shop/) to display product categories and single products, but I want the categories to be displayed above the single products, and to look different from the single products (perhaps bigger font/thumbnails). I would even like to separate products and categories with titles (Categories, Products) but I don’t know how to change the default settings applied to the page.

At the moment, categories and products look exactly the same and are mixed up.

I am using Simplicity theme from Olegnax which allows me to insert Woocommerce shortcodes, but when I insert shortcodes like [product_categories number=””] or [featured_products per_page=”12″ columns=”4″ orderby=”date” order=”desc”] they have no effect on the display – the page looks exactly the same.

  • I’m having the same issue, using Headway Theme. I’ve found nothing on the forums which helps. If I can’t get this to work, I’ll have to ditch Woo.

I can’t get it to work either. I did figure out that you have to click on the star symbol on the product listing page in order to make it a featured product, but that’s all I could get accomplished.

I discovered that if you have a product hidden (not public), it will not show up. So when I changed the product to public, it showed up, as related, as a single product, etc. But the downside is that my wootheme css doesn’t work as a result. So this needs some more investigation.
