When using “Shop base with category” as the Product Permalink, when viewing a single product page, the category name in the permalink can be set to anything and still shows the single product without redirect or 404 error for example ::

this is my single product link

    site.com/shop/battery/single-product/

you can Replace the category slug in the URL with anything and the page is available with that link :::

    site.com/shop/you-can-write-anything-here/single-product/

Do you have any solution for this?

    Hello @modernite,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.

This is the default behavior of WooCommerce products and happens even when our plugin is disabled. You should get in touch with WooCommerce as they might be able to provide a solution for this.

Also, pages with random category slugs have the correct canonical URL so it isn’t going to cause any issues. Google can’t discover the randomly generate URLs unless they are mentioned somewhere on your site and even if they do, they will not index them as the canonical URL will point them to the correct product URL.

Hope that helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.
