Shop page content disappears unless…

    Using Divi theme. all has gone well until last week. content, including a text introduction, no longer visible. if i go into settings>>products and deselect my shop page, so that no page is specified, then everything works, right through checkout!(this is what i have resorted to to make the site work)
    I tried disabling all plugins. everything is updated.

    We’ve talked with Elegant Themes about this issue when 3.3 was released. I do not know if they have patched the problem yet, but it is definitely something that has to be done on the theme side.

    So contact Divi support if you need this. I found a temporary workaround to be disabling the page builder on the shop page I believe.

    thanks, Caleb. I had a hunch that might be the problem, and I will contact Elegant. Meantime, do you foresee any problem with my workaround? is yours superior?

    just checked bug fix list in the divi update, and find this:
    version 3.0.102 ( updated 02-15-2018 )
    – Greatly enhanced the code editing experience for Custom CSS and Custom Code in the Visual Builder and the Divi Theme Options.
    – Fixed a compatibility issues with WooCommerce v3.3.0 that prevented Divi Builder pages from working on Shop Pages.

    woo updates automatically, whereas divi does not.

    so, guess i better update!

    Your workaround could cause some problems when WC tries to send the user to the shop page, such as an empty cart page. That’s why I suggest the other way ??

    But yea, definitely update as that should fix the issue altogether.

    it has been a long, strange trip trying to get divi to update..involved taking down the site. this makes me wonder about about reliability. you have 3 things to update: WP, theme, woo. if one of those doesn’t talk to the other, then there are problems. this is my first woocommmerce site. i have been using shopify. i really liked the ease of setup with woo, and the greater options of themes with wp+woo. but there is something to be said for shopify’s having everything in one place.
