Shop page gives a 404 after editing any product – fixed when updating permalinks

I have this same issue, I didn’t even know re-saving the permalink would fix it.
This is def an issue, I’m setting up a new site with 100+ pages and I have to keep going back and resetting/saving image links on my pages after making any change to a page also, the link is still “there” but I have to click on some part of it and re-save it. Similar issue. I feel like it could be a cache thing since I have to purge my cache often or my changes don’t show up?
I hope this contributes in some way.

Can you both paste a list of plugins/theme that you are using? Maybe we find the Common Denominator.

As @josk79 said, it could be helpful to see the system status reports from both of your sites. ??

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

I’d also suggest reaching out to your hosts as my first assumption is that something is going on with your .htaccess file the host likely uses to help permalinks function as they should. Depending on your hosts system they may use other tech to do that, but .htaccess is a good starting point. You should need to be re-saving permalinks to have pages work as they should.

I’ve had many chats with my host customer service who are generally excellent, and after much searching they’re the one who sent me to ask you, as they are sure it’s not coming from the server.

This kind of problem is usually caused by either a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.

The best way to determine this is to:
?

• Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
• Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
• Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.
