    Hello Jigoshop!
My shopping cart works great for logged in users. There are no issues for known users. I’m having problems with guest checkouts. So this is what’s going on….

When I’m a guest and try adding a product to my cart by clicking the “add to cart” button, it seems the page refreshes and the cart icon in the top corner doesn’t update. Also, there should be a box that pops up and says, “Product successfully added to cart”. I’m not seeing that box either. When I click on my empty shopping cart icon in the corner of the screen, it takes me to the cart page, then everything I originally added to my cart shows up! I can successfully add and delete items on the cart page as a guest with no problems, but when i’m on a product page, things just aren’t updating like they should. I have my system info listed below. Any ideas on what’s going on?

  • Hi dickey1,

Usually its a problem with sessions and cache, try to clean up your cache and disable the cache plugins, it should help.

    Hi Jigoshop!
Do you know if I turn off my caching if anything negative can happen to my website? The cart does update successfully when I disable caching, but I’m concerned this could lead to a different problem.

    Hi,
Turning off the cache itself won’t give you any negative results other than increased page-load time. It may, however, uncover the underlying issues.

Is there a way I can submit a request for you to look at my config on the back end? I feel very strongly that I need to keep WP Super Cache active on my site but my cart still isn’t updating like it should, even though my configuration is correct. So let me know if I can have someone look into this for me. Thanks so much for your support!

@dickey1: Please do not ask people to log into your site on here. Asking this is really frowned upon here. This is to protect users and to prevent people from trying to solicit work.

I apologize for asking. I didn’t know this was frowned upon. I will look into your suggestions.

    Problem solved!
Apparently the settings in WP Super Cache have to be modified for my website so additional e-commerce pages (store, product) are excluded from the cache in order for the site to work properly. I excluded “store” and “product” pages using the advanced settings on WP Super Cache and now the “empty cart” and “update cart” buttons function properly.

I will contact jigoshop if I have additional issues.
