Sure. The first thing you should do is go to the Global Options section of Link Library and increase the number of libraries to be higher than 1. This will let you create a second configuration to only show this shorter list of links.

Then, go to Library Configurations, and select the second library so that you can configure it. If you would like the library to look like your first one and you changed a lot of options, you can always copy settings from library 1 onto library 2.

Once you are ready to change parameters of library 2, here are the key options to set to get a short list of the most recent links:

    – Under the Links tab of library configuration, set the ‘Total max number of links to display’ option to the number of links you would like to display.
    – Under the Links tab of library configuration, set the Link Results Order to ‘Order by updated date’

    Hi @jackdewey,

You dont understand me. I already have that options configure and i have two pages in my website where i show each category in each one, showing the last 10 entries ordered by tags. I use the shortcode [link-library settings=”1″] and [link-library settings=”2″].

But now at the index of my website i want also to show that same two libraries but onlye with 2 results each one. Is there a shortcode or configuration to do that?

In what order are you displaying your links in the current library configuration? Are you displaying them in reverse date order? Or alphabetically or another order?

If you only have two library configurations, my answer stands in that you could copy these two configurations to create configurations 3 and 4, then change the settings to limit the number of links to display and the order in which they are displayed.

If you prefer not create duplicates of configurations, I can look at adding shortcode parameters to set the max number of links to display and change the sort order. I should be able to get to this over the week-end.

    Hi again @jackdewey,

if you can do that shortcode would be the best, is most easier to have one shorcode for set the max number of links to display than duplicate configurations.

    Waiting for your news! Thanks!

Please update to version 6.3.2 to see the new options I added to shortcodes.

maxlinksoverride to change the max number of links to display
linkorderoverride to change the ordering values
linkdirectionoverride to change the direction of link display

Values for each of these parameters are displayed in the first tab of Library Configurations. Please let me know if these changes work as you wanted them to and please consider donating to support this plugin’s development.
