Not sure if I’m looking at the same ‘jobpress’, but if it contains its own form of job management, its likely these are conflicting. Try seeing if it all works with the default WP theme – if it does you should probably ask the author if its possible to use a different plugin for jobs.

Yeah Jobpress has its own job post feature but this plugin gives me much more better features than the default.OK I’ll this with default theme of WP.

Hey Mike I tried using the shortcut code in WP default theme it doesn’t work there too.

Can you post a link so I can see what you get?

    Also:

I tried putting the shortcut code [jobs] in index.php

Index.php? Shortcodes like [jobs] need to go inside WordPress PAGES not template files. Admin > Pages

    Hello Mike,

Thats your issue then. Don’t add that to index.php.

Then how do I add job listing on my home page i.e; index page?

    (@mikejolley)

Make a page in wordpress, call it ‘home’, add the shortcode to that. Then in settings > Reading set it as the wordpress front page.

trying to add a short code to the front page of https://www.daviddorman.com under the blog posts that are at the top of the page… it’s an idx short code which shows properties… not sure where to place it without it showing a parsing error…. any ideas? I tried in the index.php file then I realized it’s not the home page…

    Thanks

@elijahweb I don’t think this is related to this plugin. Wrong forum?

    Hi Mike,
Hope all is well. I’ve used your plugins many times before and haven’t had this issue until yesterday. I’m using the Divi theme from Elegant Themes and when I install WP Job Manager and try to put the [jobs] shortcode on the Careers page, it just displays the shortcode on the parsed page. I’ve even made sure to use text/html mode when entering the code. Divi appears to put a <p> tag around the shortcode and I’m wondering if that is the problem. Let me know if you’ve come across anything like this before.

    Thanks,

@dgallello there are not scripts on the page either – plugin doesn’t look active..

Interesting. WordPress says its installed and active. I just upgraded to 1.21.3, too.

Maybe you can rule out theme/plugin conflicts by turning other things off.
