Short Codes no longer working

I understand that short codes were removed because of a Security issue, however, I have 5 plugins that make heavy use of Shortcodes.

Will WordPress make short codes work again ?

or is this change permanent ?

I have forms, sliders, search, etc etc that no longer works ?

Please help
