• Most of Simple Membership is working correctly for me. However, I am finding that shortcodes are not working. On the pages with these short codes, I just get the short coeds themselves, not what they should be pointing to.

Is the a switch or something to turn on short codes?

Hi please read the following documentation.

    Thank you

Confused. I do not see the relevance of the doc on recreating pages with short codes not working.
The pages are there, but where these short codes are used, they just show up as text, not links.
Interestingly, the short codes that as of the form [swpm_xxx_form], they work.
But the short codes of the form [ms-membership-logout], they do not work.

Those shortcodes that you shared above do not exist in this plugin.

I am not sure where they are coming from. Can you confirm that you don’t have another membership plugin installed? Or maybe you deleted the other membership plugin but forgot to also delete the pages created by that plugin.

    REally strange.
No, this is a new WP installation [well, a week old], and SM in the only membership plugin I have installed. These short codes showed up after SP was installed, as I was going through the pages. Makes sense that only the swpm SCs work, but I am at a complete loss to understand where these “ms” codes came from.

That makes two of us ??

Can you mark this support thread as resolved since the issue is now resolved.

    Thank you

    Sure.
I am really baffled. There are 3 pages, “registration”, “account”, and “membership list” that seems to have come from nowhere. I can’t explain them, but I am just eliminating them.

Do you know if your theme allows for membership sign up?

    Thread Starter inventorgeorge

    (@inventorgeorge)

No, it doesn’t. I use Expressions. an older, simple theme that I have used before, and never ran into this.
I am starting to wonder if a Christmas elf snuck into the site, and planted those pages there???

Do you have any other Admin member part of your website? Do you think you have been hacked? You might like to investigate further just in case.

    Regards

Thank you for the concern. No other admins, and I have both WPfence, and the new WP site guardian.
I sure hope I haven’t been hacked. I don’t see any evidence of it, just these 3 strange pages.

    Okay no problem.

If you don’t require any more help can you mark this support thread as resolved. This is more to do with your WordPress set up than the plugin.

    Thank you

Very sorry, I thought I clicked resolved with last post.
Thank you kindly for your efforts. Have a very happy holiday!

    REALLY? Mbrsolution? ARE YOU SERIOUS?

I am using Simple WordPress Membership also and having the exact same problem as InventorGeorge. EXACT! Certain shortcodes just show as text and don’t do what they’re supposed to. I came to this forum and saw a feeble attempt to help then make a quick entry by asking him to mark the thread as Resolved. So he had incorrect ms codes. Why not try to help him with the correct ones? That’s one thing but you just shrugged off his question and ask him to read the documentation on create the pages. Wow.. didn’t you read his question in the first place?
Furthermore, this man is trying to get the plugin to work. You gave him bad advice telling him to erase the registration, account, and membership pages which this plugin automatically creates. All he (and I) needs is the right shortcode to logout once logged in. And I don’t believe a plugin for a membership login would not have a valid way to logout. I came to this forum for help and now very much have second thoughts. InventorGeorge, if you found the shortcode for the Logout could you kindly post it here?

    (@mbrsolution)

@marsamm, the log out link is shown inside the login widget once the member logs in. There is no shortocde for the logout link.

If you want to add a particular logout link separately using a URL then please read the following documentation.

Let me know if you need more information.

    Thank you
