Short Description and Adding Description and Keywords

  • First, I clicked VIEW SOURCE and copied my meta name for description and keywords, clicked saved. It didn’t take. What do I do? First, I’m not very advanced, so please make it simple.

    Second, I read the forum about the short description by changing _content to _excerpt. Pray tell me, what is the file name or where do I make this change? THANKS! Peace!

  • The file is probably wp-content/themes/YOUR_THEME/index.php. You may want to check out Templates, Stepping Into Templates, and Template Tags if you are interested in the details of revising your Theme.

    For your first problem. I would rather suggest to make changes offline & save files. Then connect to internet and upload changed files to your server.

    Second, do as adviced by MichaelH.

    Thanks for the support! I’m still not sure that I understand clearly what I’m supposed to do. But I’ll figure it out! Anybody else out there with something more detailed to help me, please speak up! Peace!

    What is the name of the theme you are using?
