Short description box duplicating text

    I am having an issue with plugin and I’m hoping you can help….

    When I use the “short description” box, the wording is duplicated on the product page. The main catalogue page is fine, but for some reason the text I add in the short description box shows twice on the individual item view.

    It looks like your theme is displaying the excerpt like this.

    If you don’t have an option to disable this theme feature, you can remove the [show_product_catalog] shortcode from your main catalog page. After that, you can go to catalog general settings and switch to advanced mode.

    How/where do I check if y theme has option to disable excerpt option? sorry, not sure what that is…

    If I turn if off, would it have impact on anything else on the site?

    Hello @kman321,

    It would be best if you look in your theme settings or the Customizer.

    Yes, it will probably have an impact on all content, but it depends on your theme.

    Any idea where in Customizer it would show? I cannot see anything that says “excerpt” :*(

    If your theme doesn’t have such an option, you should remove the [show_product_catalog] shortcode from your main catalog page and switch the Catalog Layout Mode to advanced.

    Ok… does the “advanced” mode have a way to remove excerpt then?

    Did you switch? In Advanced Mode, the content is not generated by the theme, so the excerpt shouldn’t show up on the top.

    No… I didn’t switch yet. I am worried that if I switch, I will lose everything that I have modified and edited so far?

    You can always switch back to the simple mode.

    During the switch, will I lose all content and settings?

    All other settings stay the same. The content is not touched.

    It is just a simple setting like any other.
