Short link not working

It seems that you used a temporary site URL (using an IP address) when you first set up Jetpack. That site URL was not updated in your Jetpack settings, and the shortlinks were consequently using a wrong site URL.

I have now updated your site settings, and the shortlinks should now work properly.

My short links don’t seem to be working either!

For this post: https://itdoesnttastelikechicken.com/ham-burger/
it gives me the short link: https://wp.me/p3GAPg-80
which takes me here: https://69.195.124.109/~itdoesnt/?p=496
which is a Page not found!

What am I doing wrong?

I checked your Jetpack settings, and everything seems to be set up properly. But if you used a different site URL in the past, you indeed generated different shortlinks for each post.

That post’s shortlink is now the following:
https://wp.me/p3IEx4-80

If you want the old shortlinks to redirect to the new site, you will need to create a redirection from your old site URL to the new one.

One more question about jetpack. My “like this” button seems to be stuck on loading…
Don’t know how to fix that, when it seems that everything is set up properly.

Any ideas?

Your site’s layout seems to be broken at the moment. The footer is missing.
The problem could be caused by your caching plugin. Could you try to deactivate it, and let me know if it helps?

I accidentally deleted my footer… I was trying to edit it, but no nothing about coding, so that was silly. I have deactivated jetpack and reactivated it, and that didn’t seem to help….

Any other ideas?

To solve the issue, you will need to revert to a previous version of your theme, where the footer still exists.

Hi Jeremy, I’m having the same issue as the original poster on my blog https://friendsofcarnegielibrary.org.uk – which is to say the wp shortlinks are going to the old IP address.

Am I able to change this, or is it something you have to do? Thanks!

Hi my short link https://wp.me/p17xNn-B is not working for a new post I just published yesterday. It happens when I open WordPress from my Iphone. not sure why that happend??
I get this message when I clink on the short link

I read your comments on this thread and would kindly ask you for your help too. It’s the issue about jetpack shortlinks that are still linking to the old URL (which is redcat-travel.com). Example:

I want all my URLs to be the new ones, thailandredcat.com/…

Do you know what I can do to solve this problem? It would be so great if you could help me out there!
