I fixed it myself. I didn’t realise I had to go in and change all the links to the new shortcodes. I thought it would do it automatically.

So I just found out what the shortcodes had been changed to and then found every link and changed the little bit after the “https://wp.me/…”and before the hyphen and the bit that identified the post.

There’s probably a way to do a search and repeat for this if you have a lot of links.

This kind of thing can happen if you connected Jetpack to WordPress.com while your site had a development or temporary URL and not the URL it has now. For future reference, you should disconnect Jetpack before making any changes to the URL. Then, after the changes are complete, reconnect Jetpack.

I’d be happy to take a look at this issue further if you’d like. Just let me know what the current URL is, and I’ll take a look!

    Thanks Ryan
This is exactly what happened. I changed the url while the jetpack was still connected. In future I will remember to disconnect jetpack before the site goes live and then reconnect.
Thanks for offering to have a look at my site. The current url is: https://www.hafodmorfacopperworks.com but as I said I have changed all the links to my new wp.me code and it all seems good now.
