    Hi All,

I’m a self taught WordPress guy and have a fairly decent proficiency. I have uploaded a PDF file that I want to use for my magazines media kit.

    The url looks like:
    domainname.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/media-kit.pdf

Is there a way to make it look like:
    domainname.com/media-kit.pdf?

I really don’t want wp-content/uploads/2011/03 in the URL as it let’s people know when the file was uploaded, looks unprofessional, etc.

I know I can hyperlink it when giving someone the link, but they will see the URL when they click on that link to read the media kit.

There was a topic similar to this a while ago, but no definitive solution. I’d like to know if there’s a way to do this through WordPress Media Library without creating a folder in the FTP (as this will still have the name of the folder in the URL). I simply want a PDF upload to have a link such as https://www.domainname.com/media-kit.pdf

I’ve seen this done before so there must be a way that I’m missing! Thanks in advance for your help!
