Instead of seeing the usual (simple 3-slide) slider on the home page just below the menu, I’m now seeing the shortcode only: [metaslider id=”628″] … Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your responses.

    Version 3.25.2
I tried disabling all plugins except MetaSlider.

  • I went ahead and checked your site. I don’t see the MetaSlider plugin running.

Please make sure that you have activated MetaSlider.

Thanks for the super speedy response! I just double-checked and MetaSlider 3.25.2 is running on the site; https://gogetcovered.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=metaslider … I also checked the (3-slide) preview for [metaslider id=”628″] and the preview runs just fine. Is there a compatibility issue with WP 5.9 perhaps or something that is now required to have shortcodes work in “Home-Top” Genesis widget in the Lifestyle Pro child theme? Any further suggestions? THANKS!!!

If you check your site’s shortcode, there’s still no MetaSlider plugin that’s running or active. This is the reason why your shortcode is not registering, and is just diplaying as text.

You can also try deactivating all your plugins except MetaSlider and switch your theme temporarily to Twenty-Twenty One. Then check your site if it generates the slider. If it does, you can try to reactivate all your plugins one-by-one until you find which is causing the issue.

Thanks again Arreane… I’m puzzled, since the MetaSlider plugin is DEFINITELY installed and running, since the preview (a 3-slide slider) works perfectly, and I already DID try temporarily switching to Twenty-Twenty One and disabling all other plugins, which didn’t resolve the issue. Here’s a screen snap of the plugin on the GoGetCovered.com backend: https://gogetcovered.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/GoGetCoveredDOTcom-MetaSlider-plugin-Screen-Shot-2022-02-07-at-7.05.08-AM.png

Are we both looking at the same website (https://gogetcovered.com/), or am I cluelessly – not uncommon! – missing something? ?? Thanks for your persistence and patience!

    Hi Bruce,

I can see that your shortcode is added using an html widget. Can you try moving over your shortcode to a shortcode widget?

Hi again Arreane… Is there a plugin (or some other way) to use a shortcode widget with the classic editor? If not, I’ll just make a full backup and try the (Gutenberg) block editor with this site. THANKS!
