I have put some shortcodes (like [password]), in the Email settings, but it doesn’t put the values in the email messages.
I’ve tried {} instead of []. I’ve tried [ + ] instead of [], but that is not the solution.

    Hi dewild,

Which email are you trying to use the [password] code in? It’s only possible to use it in the email that’s being sent to the user, not to an administrator for security purposes.

    Hi Rustaurius,

There are 3 emails. This is what I filled in.
Registration Message Body: Dear [Voornaam]. “Voornaam” is the fieldname of the prename.
Admin Approval Message Body: Dear [Voornaam]. This is your username: [username]. This is your password: [password].
New Registration Email to Admin: There is a new registration of: [Voornaam] [Achternaam]. “Achternaam” is the fieldname of the surname.

    Hi dewild,

If you look at the explanation text under each of those email fields, it will tell you which shortcodes you can use in them. There are no shortcodes for first name, surname, or any of your other custom fields.

You can only use the [password] shortcode in the “Regristration Message Body” email, as the only time the password is available for use like this is when the form is submitted. After this, for security reasons, the password is unrecoverable, which means it can’t be used in the “Admin Approval Message Body” field.

    Thank you for the information.
I thought the shortcodes in the explanation were an exampe, so I used my own fields to personalize the emailmessages. The suggested codes are working fine.

    I have another question.
Is there a way for the admin to approve new registrants by confirmation-link without login to WordPress? So I can leave it to the administration-people to approve without the knowledge of WordPress.

    Thank you

    Hi dewild,

Do you mean that the admins would get an email with a link in it to approve a new user? That isn’t currently possible. Thank you for the feature suggestion.

    Yes, that’s what I mean.
Maybe the approval message to new registrants could also be send direct on approval of the admin.

    Thanks and good luck.
