Shortcode in HTML editor

Hello, I’m trying to use simple to use shortcodes to simply have tooltips on text on a specific page but it does not seem to be working. Automatic tooltips work fine with images using the title field, so I’m wondering why the shortcodes are not working. Any hint?

I’m using the HTML editor in WP.
