Shortcode in slide content

How can I use a shortcode inside a slide’s content? It lets you put in html content, but shortcode text i.e. [my_shortcode] is just returned as text.

<?php do_shortcode(‘[my_shortcode]’); ?> displays nothing (it is commented out automatically)?
