    Hello,

Because of the problem with the no-longer-working accordion-effect I have with plugin release 6.0.1 (see this topic), I checked if, maybe, the newly introduced shortcode [JSArchiveList] could offer a quick solution. Unfortunately I found that that shortcode still needs some work:

    • The name of the shortcode in the documentation [JSArchiveList] does not match with the name in the source code [JsArchiveList] (note the lowercase “s”), therefore the shortcode as documented is not working.
    • The shortcode attribute fx_in value “slideDown” doesn’t behave as slideDown but as FadeIn.
    • When specifying an empty string for attribute ex_sim, you see an arrow-right expand symbol before each year, where I expected there would be no expand symbol. The expand symbol disappears after one time expanding and collapsing each year.
    • The documentation FAQ says “You can check source code for more information”. Doing so, I found what looks like an undocumented shortcode attribute accordion, which I did not succeed to get working.

Hope this is of some help; there may be more…

    Hello Miguel,

Thank you, I look forward to your findings; in particular regarding the broken slide-up accordion effect!

In the meantime I did a few more tests and, based on these, I would like to change the problems I reported above. Please ignore those and replace them with the following:

    • The name of the shortcode [JSArchiveList] in the documentation (including examples there) is difference from the name in the source code ([JsArchiveList]. Therefore, if you use the name in the documentation, it does not work.
      (This has not changed)
    • Different from what I wrote, attribute fx_in=slideDown works as slideDown (and not, incorrectly, as fadeIn.
    • When specifying an empty string for shortcode attribute ex_sim, you see an arrow-right expand symbol before each year, where I expected there would be no expand symbol. Different from what I wrote, the expand symbol does not disappear after expanding and collapsing the year. Furthermore:
      – After you expand the months list, the symbol changes into arrow-down.
      – This is only the case if you use the shortcode in a post/page body. When you use the shortcode in a widget, you do not get these arrow-right and arrow-down symbols.
    • The accordion effect indeed does not seem to be working; neither in the widget, nor in the shortcode. When I include an attribute “accordion=1”, the slideUp is instantaneous instead of animated.
    • I read somewhere in the documentation that you can have more than one instance of the [JSArchiveList] in a page or post, or in a post and also in a widget with that post, but that is not the case. If you have more than one shortcode on a page, or one shortcode and the jal-widget, then neither of them works.

    Hope this helps!

    Best regards,
    Henk

    Hello Henk,
I appreciate your detailed report, it helped to find things that I didn’t noticed. I fixed all of them in the 6.0.5 version.

About the correct shortcode, I kept both cases to avoid any problem with previous uses.

Let me know if you have any issues and thanks for using my plugin.
