  • You’ll need to use straight quotes " not smart quotes .

The operator is for something else so I should leave that out.

    this did not work

There are still smart quotes in there, one after the 12 and another after the 4. You have to look real close to see the difference.

when i edit it and push opdate, it is the correct qoutes in the backend, but not in the frontend

When you go into the page editor, there should be 2 tabs: “Visual” and “Text”. These tabs are at top right hand side of the box where you type your page text. Ensure you are typing in the “Text” tab.

    stil wont work

Flush W3 Total Cache & Autooptimze. If the problem persists, deactivate them temporarily and test.

    still not working after deactivationg

There are still smart quotes in there, one after the 12 and another after the 4.

Type it out fresh using notepad or other plain text editor, then copy and paste it into the page’s text tab.

whenever i edit that, and opdate it. it turn into those again

can confirm its not the qoutes

The sample page now has single smart quotes around the shortcode’s parameters, so the parameters will be ignored. However, [product_categories] should work.

Please try [product_categories] on its own. No quotes, no parameters. We can come back to the parameters.

If that doesn’t work, temporarily switch to the Storefront theme and test. That will show us whether or not its your theme that is not implementing shortcodes.
