shortcode not working in text widget

    Hi
    I posted the following – [ninja_forms_modal_form id=2 text_link=”Email”] – into a text widget for one of my sidebars. It just ouput the text into the sidebar rather than create a link (pasted the same into a page and it worked.) Am I missing something obvious or can I not use the shortcode in this way. Thanks

    Ignore me – I was missing the obvious – and have found the solution – add_filter(‘widget_text’, ‘do_shortcode’); in my child themes functions.php.
