shortcode placement

Hi can you let me know what version of wordpress you are using and what theme.

If possible could you give a link as well to take a look at what is happening.

I’ve not tested the plugin in the latest couple of version of wordpress but I’ll take a look over the weekend and try and replicate the issue.

could you tell me which one the [/one_half] plugin is to.

There are quite a few column shortcode themes/plugins. Here’s the one I use, https://themes.mysitemyway.com/awake/shortcodes/column-shortcodes/.

thanks for that. I’m not going to be able to do much apart from give you a guess I’m afraid as it’s a paid for theme that I don’t have.

The best option will be to try and defer the shortcode from taking effect until after the page has completed rendering. We can do that through the use of a php buffer.

Not sure how much your are into hacking code but you can try this.

Open up tripadvisorsc.php in something like notepad++ (to help with line numbers)

On line 97 add
ob_start();

and on line 121 add
return ob_get_clean();

so your code should look some thing like:

add_shortcode('tri

that should slow the shortcode operation down to after all the page has completed downloading and should stop it rendering at the top of the page.

It’s totally untested though as I don’t have access to the theme. But there should be a good probability of it working.

If you don’t feel comfortable hacking the code send me an email at kevin @ ypraise.com and I’ll send you an updated plugin zip over the weekend for you to install and try.

Unfortunately I am not able to provide any help with premium themes.

I am slowly going through all my plugins as some I have to checked for a while.

I may look at including the above tweak to help in this situation but I’ll not be able to test in your or any paid themes.
