Shortcode to display recent posts? Need help…

  • Heya,
    Does anyone know of existing shortcode in the WordPress core that would allow a user to pull in recent posts from a particular category?
    For example: {POSTS 10 ASC “Sample Category”} would display the ten latest posts, in ascending order, from the category named “Sample Category”?

    If there doesn’t exist something like this in the WordPress core already, does anyone know of a good plugin?
