I am using the shortcode [related-posts-thumbnails] to display related posts on certain pages. I only want it to show 2 posts, but it shows 3. I have changed the ‘ number of posts to display” option in the settings but it doesnt work for the shortcode, only the automatically appended post content.

I am using Divi theme, and adding the shortcode via the divi ‘code’ module
I will have to use CSS to hid the extra content, but I would prefer if the 3rd related post just didnt show in the first place, can anyone help.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

The shortcode uses its own arguments instead of the option form settings. To show 2 posts simply use this shortcode instead:

    [related-posts-thumbnails posts_number="2"]

    Cheers!

You’re welcome I am glad it worked out.

If you enjoy using our plugin give us your 2 mins to post 5-star ratings and a comment at https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/related-posts-thumbnails/reviews/

    I would really appreciate that.

@artisticasad Don’t put ?filter=5 in your review links, it hides the non-5 star reviews from the person who uses that link and that’s not being completely honest. That’s not necessary as the stars default to 5 for all new reviews. The reviewer would manually need to change it to something other than 5 if they wanted to.

I’ve removed that part and now they’ll see the actual reviews and not just the 5 star ones.
