I would like to put a woocommerce shortcode into html widget so I can output some product category names in the dropdown. How do I get the menu to support the shortcode output? Ideally, if your plugin could have more settings in the product categories widget, that is what I am looking to do. I do not want all my categories to show, I want to show the child categories of one category. Seems like a simple thing. More dynamic.

  • Hi there,

Thanks a lot for using WP Mega Menu and contacting. There is no option in mega menu to show child categories of one category.

Generally, we support all WooCommerce default widgets in our plugin. We have the shortcode option in the menu. User can input any kind shortcode there to show their content inside the mega menu. But we can’t control the output of the specific shortcode.

there must be some way to have dynamic content otherwise, manually inserting product categories is a pain as they change all the time. I guess I will go back to ubermenu.

    Hi there,

Can you please share an example of your requirements? I think you have you would like to show some specific child categories on the menu. You don’t need to the Product category widget or any shortcode to do that. You can simply select child categories and hit Add to Menu to show them on the menu bar: https://prnt.sc/of6r40.

    Thanks
