Hi Jeff. Thanks for the feedback. Currently there are no shortcodes to display created memes on the user-facing side. Unfortunately I’ve become super busy with my primary job right now, so I don’t really have much time to work on the plugin.

However, the functionality you’ve mentioned is planned and will most probably be implemented in the next update. Currently I’m improving meme creating process. It’ll use JavaScript and will have something like a “live preview” feature. But again I don’t really have much time, so I can’t tell you any exact dates on when it is going to be finished. I guess I should be done in a week or two.

stepan- really, trying to be friendly here, but your lackadaisical attitude is unprofessional. When we download a plug-in, we expect that we are not dealing with kids who did something one night then want to forget about it…if you are going to offer a plug-in, you must respect that we are trying to create something on our side and we are not doing things “for fun” but to build sites and to offer a credible user experience to our site visitors. You are talented and have a future ahead of you, however you must be serious about what you offer, and be prepared to support and continue development in a timely matter….or wait until you have the time to do it….thanks.

Doug – you need to copy/paste that comment to about 100 other plugin developers!

    Doug,

Stepan has provided a free plugin for all to use.
He has also explained that it is not his full time job.

And you…..Self Self Self, why don’t you get off your arse and learn to code yourself, then maybe you could offer to help Stepan. For nothing of course.

It is not like you have paid for this plugin, where you can expect support and updates.

… Says ShaneLowry who has one post to his name at WP.org and zero plugins or contribution.

You signed up for an account *just* for this?

Hey there Jeff, I wasn’t having a go at you here, I was commenting on what Doug99 had said.

I have been registered with wordpress for around four years now.
I am running 5 wp sites and use a lot of free plugins.
Myself, I appreciate what these authors do for free.

Just because I have zero plugins or contribution doesn’t mean anything here.

Oh wow, it’s been a while. Thank for stepping up Shane. I wish more people would realize that free software developers are people too and have lives to live as well. Thanks again!

    Doug,

I understand what you mean, but unfortunately it’s not possible for me as a developer to constantly work on this plugin since I have other activities to do. The plugin is free. I don’t get anything for working on it. So I have to prioritize profitable activities over this plugin in order to make a living. This is a thing about free software. It’s free. It comes with no guarantee or guaranteed support. So it’s at least not right to blame free software developers for not fulfilling all the requests because there are so many users to please and everybody wants everything for free.

There is plenty of stuff written about this particular problem on the Internet so there is no point in us two arguing with each other.

    Jeff,

    Back to the original topic.

In the latest update (version 2.0.0) it is possible to turn memes into WordPress posts. Try it out if you are still interested. Also, a quick search for a gallery plugin can bring up some really easy-to-use plugins like this one: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/lazyest-gallery/

I’m marking this thread as resolved since there is nothing more topic-related left to be said.
