shortcodes do not render in WordPress 5.1

    This afternoon I upgraded WordPress under Ubuntu 18.04 from 5.0.3 to 5.1.
    I noticed that shortcodes in shortcode blocks do not render in 5.1.
    For instance, if I add a shortcode block in Gutenberg and type shortcode:

    [display-posts]

    then text “[display-posts]” is shown instead of posts being rendered.

    UPDATE: issue resolved. I seemed to have overlooked the fact that I first had to install the plugin before I could successfully reference its shortcode. Which proves you should never install Ubuntu, watch Youtube, and upgrade WordPress to a major new release all in one session while your girlfriend nags you how much longer you’re going to need. Women! ??
