    Hi!

I am sort of a rookie with this stuff, but I just updated my website today — added new pictures to my galleries, got it all exactly how I wanted it, EVERYTHING. Then I updated wordpress and some plug ins, and naturally the whole thing fell apart. The primary issue I’m having is with the shortcodes — suddenly the gallery shortcodes my developer had set up are not working. After some tinkering I figured out that the gallery shortcodes have changed from [custom-gallery] to [su-gallery]… okay… But that doesn’t help me retrieve the photos on my posts in the same way, it just says the photos are missing (they are all attached directly to the posts, which is what made it easy to update the galleries).

So then I gave up that route and just tried inserting a gallery with the same images, with this new shortcode system, and it works OK but is now showing double lightboxes and only two columns of photos rather than 4. At this point, I just have no idea where to go from here. I wish that updating things on my website was just a smooth transition, rather than something I have to do over again from scratch and try to decipher. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be and how I can simply restore my galleries back to their original state? All it was was 4 columns of images on each page with no titles, and when you clicked on them it opened to a lightbox you could flip through. The lightbox just had arrows, no descriptions, which is how I want them… I don’t know whether this plugin is creating an additional lightbox or what, but it looks crazy.

Anyway, here is a link to my portfolio and the one almost -functional page so you can see what I’m talking about. Any input would be tremendously helpful.

PS — also, why the heck is the shortcode suddenly appearing on the portfolio page like that???? I’m guessing this might have more to do with the theme. It all looked so professional just a few hours ago…

OK So my developer went into the CSS and fixed the problem and a few of the other problems caused by the various updates. The lightboxes was my bad, apparently there were two widgets running at once somehow? Anyway.

To get the galleries back I had to conform to the new approach so what I did was insert a gallery from the ‘add media’ tab… and transferred over the image numbers to my custom gallery so they showed up as they were posted before, in the right order. Otherwise I would have had to build all of the galleries again from scratch, which was sort of annoying since I’d had them all uploaded to the posts specifically. If there is, in fact, a way to capture the images from the post itself like before, I would be glad to find out what that is… but I couldn’t figure it out.

Anyway… It doesn’t seem I can delete this forum thread so I figured I’d post to say I resolved the issue and how I did it. It wasn’t a big deal, thankfully.
