• When is WordPress going to lasso the proliferation in Shortcodes and produce a Menu item that contains all shortcodes from all sources so it is easier to use them? People make plugins, themes, etc. loaded with shortcodes and then you spend half a day trying to find the list of shortcodes and what they actually do. Throw in VC and it is a chaotic mess. my vote is for a Shortcodes Menu where designers can buy shortcodes and they can plugin to the application and if they don’t follow application standards the shortcodes error out. Another problem is when the developers stop supporting a shortcode and you have it on 12 pages on your site – too bad, in the next update you have to repair 12 pages.

Give control of shortcodes to the designers…

Yeah, I want to say there is a plugin for that but it would take some searching. Though it wouldn’t be too hard to come up with a plugin that shows all available shortcodes. I think the downside would be that not all developers use them in conventional ways.

Oh, while also typing this out I did find one that does provide some sort of solution but maybe not the best: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/shortcode-reference/
