We’ve been using BNFW for a while and its been great.
But just recently, in the past few days, when an email goes out the shortcodes don’t change to the actual content.
So what users saw in the email was stuff like:
“[post_title]” was just published by [display_name].

Instead of saying the actual post title and author name.

I’m using the most recent WP version and that was probably updated in the past few days.

Is anyone else having this issue?

    Hi @aaronrobb,
    Thanks for your message.

That’s an odd issue and not one I’ve ever come across!

If the BNFW notification is being sent but the shortcodes aren’t being replaced with real values, then this would suggest to me that something is preventing the notification from being generated properly at the time it’s sent. My first thought is another plugin is causing an error that stops a function from running somewhere.

Are you able to re-test with WP_DEBUG switched on to see if it shows any errors when you publish a new post to trigger the New Post Published notification?
