  • relativecrew, I don’t believe they have been discontinued. We use both on our site just fine. However, we have 6 posts per page. When I tried -1 it took some time to load ALL our sermons.
I am an amateur here, but maybe you can include your:

    1. WP version
    2. Sermon Manage Version
    3. Theme
    4. URL

I currently have a theme that includes plugins that Sermon Manager conflicts with. Most of which would break shortcodes. See the other posts about shortcodes and see if that solution (band-aid) that worked for us will work for you, to.

Thanks rboylee for the reply. I took a look at your site, and it does seem to work well there. I only have two other plugins running, and have toggled them on/off to see if it makes any difference – nothing. I’m an amateur here too, and didn’t think to add the information you suggested:

    WP Version 4.3.1
    Sermon Manager 1.9.5
    Theme: Foundry
    Testing URL: https://sermons.relativecreative.co
This is a site I setup to test the plugin before using it on a client’s website.
You’ll find the broken shortcodes on the following page: https://sermons.relativecreative.co/all-sermons/

I also noticed that searching for a scripture book of the bible doesn’t render anything unless the book is in the title or description of the sermon. It’s a little dissappointing so far, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to build my own sermon plugin/player for the three churches we’re working on. Especially seeing how I’ve emailed this plugin developer twice now and haven’t seen a reply.

We like Sermon Manager, but have been leery of paying for support as others on the interwebs have mentioned response from the dev is sparse. I am willing to eat those words if proven wrong, too. The WP community has really helped out greatly. Updating becomes a concern that’s cringe-worthy and it shouldn’t be that way.

See if there is some shortcode conflict that your Foundry theme uses. You would have to look at a shortcodes.php file.

You should also know that it conflicts currently with the Yoast SEO plugin – which you can read about, too.

I have Yoast enabled (it is network enabled on my multisite network), and did read about the error with the feeds that happens with Sermon Manager.
I also just switched to the 2014 Theme, and same result.

I’m just going to build my own or modify Series Engine to fill my needs. It isn’t worth the time to invest into it for the risk.

Thanks for all your time rboylee.
