shortcodes not working

I too am having issues with shortcodes not working. I use this feature to publish a vimeo embed code for our videos. The issues seems to have started following the most recent plugin update (Version 0.45.17).

I was able to get past the shortcode problem; and now the audio won’t play.
After deactivating all plugins and activating SB first it looked like it would work.

In desperation I setup an all-new development site with clean installs of WP and SB and 27 test sermons. All works as expected, even on mobile devices.

I conclude that something put garbage into the WP settings, and I’ll have to nuke it and start over. Hopefully the SB table backups will work. I’ll import them to the development site before nuking the main one.

This should be fixed in the latest version (0.45.18).

I’ll try the updated version on a new dev site install.
(I hate to lose data for 371 sermons)

The update (0.45.18) did not fix our ability to embed our vimeo videos.

Apologies that the update didn’t work. I believe it was fixed for shortcodes, but not for iframes.

The good news is that an update will be available later today which will fix the problem for iframes, too.

@tibc – this is odd. What happens if you reset the template to default?

Yes, resetting the template to default solved my shortcode display problem.

Note to self: the creator always knows how to solve our problems. What drives us mad is trivial to him.

Hi Mark – I have had great success with Sermon Browser.

Whilst it still works well, I have recently refreshed our church site and the Podcasts page, looks a little odd – ljbaptist.com.au/podcasts/. It works, but has an “unfinished” look about it. I am still tinkering with the refresh. The revised theme is in Themeco X and generally is working very well.

Can you please advise how I can add some padding to the “series” line to drop the audio bar clear of that Series description. That’s the only issue I have, but I am not much of a code cutter so the advice will need to be quite specific …

Unfortunately, I’m not able to offer individual support for SermonBrowser – I simply get too many requests. I have to limit my help to situations where there’s a bug in SermonBrowser that’s causing the problem.

If you need technical help with WordPress, I recommend one of the following services:
https://codeable.io/ or https://wpboys.com/ — great for one-off projects (large and small)
https://wpcurve.com/ — if you think you might need small amounts of help over a long period of time

If your budget is very tight, you could consider https://www.wphired.com/, but there are no guarantees on that site (there are on the others).

Sorry, audio shortcode still not working, not even in 0.45.19! You get buffering at 0% forever. The fix I had to put into previous version to get round this is not working, any longer. I want to roll back.

The sermon series shortcake has done something strange to the pages that have it on. I can’t even get the pages to load now..

I ended up recovering the site from backup, and won’t be updating Sermon Browser in a hurry.
